Live In House Manager

Job Description:

The Live-In House Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintaining a positive living environment within the residential facility. This position involves a combination of administrative, managerial, and interpersonal tasks to ensure the well being and harmony of the residents.

Key Requirements:

Resident Support: Provide guidance, support, and assistance to residents, fostering a supportive and positive living atmosphere.

Household Management: Oversee the general maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of the facility.

Administrative Duties: Maintain records related to resident activities, schedules and any incidents that may occur. Manage communication with residents, staff, and external parties.

Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of residents by implementing and enforcing house rules and emergency procedures. Address any security or safety concerns promptly and effectively.

Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts among residents, promoting a peaceful and respectful living environment. Address behavioral issues with tact and adherence to organizational policies.

Collaboration and support services: Collaborate with social workers and counselors and other support services to enhance the overall well-being of residents. Attend regular meetings with the organizational team to discuss resident's progress and address any concerns.

Community engagement: Facilitate and encourage resident involvement in community activities, fostering a sense of community within the residential setting.

Qualifications:

·      Previous experience in residential management or a related field is preferred.

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·      Ability to handle conflicts and maintain calm demeanor and challenging situations.

·      Basic knowledge of budget management and record keeping.

·      Sensitivity to the needs and challenges of resident population.

 

Working conditions:

·      This is a living position, requiring the house manager to reside on site.

·      Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to address emerging issues.

·      May require participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

 

 


Volunteer

Job Description:

As a sober living volunteer, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery within our sober living program. This position involves various responsibilities aimed at fostering a positive and supportive environment for residents as they work towards a substance free lifestyle.

 

Key responsibilities:

Supportive presence: provide a supportive and non judgmental presence for residents, encouraging a positive and sober living community.

Engagement in activities:

Plan and facilitate engaging activities that contribute to the residents well-being, personal development, and a sense of community. Encourage participation in group activities and events.

Resource assistance: assist residents in assessing community resources, support services and recreational activities to enhance their overall recovery experience

Peer support: offer peer support by sharing personal experiences in a manner consistent with program guidelines. Foster a sense of fellowship in shared goals among residents.

Assistance with daily living:

Provide practical assistance with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, budgeting and time management. Collaborate with residents to sit and achieve individualized goals.

Conflict resolution: Help mediate and resolve conflicts among residents with empathy and a focus on maintaining a positive living environment.

Educational workshops: Facilitate or coordinate educational workshops on topics relevant to recovery, personal development, and life skills.

Maintain boundaries: Understand and maintain appropriate boundaries with residents respecting their privacy and individual paths to recovery.

 

Qualifications:

·      A commitment to promoting a sober lifestyle and supporting individuals in recovery.

·      Excellent communication interpersonal skills

·      Empathy, patience, and the ability to work effectively in diverse and dynamic environments.

·      Basic understanding of addiction and recovery principles (training will be provided)

Time and commitment:

Volunteers are expected to commit to a set number of hours per week, with flexibility for occasional events or activities.
